Is PPF actually worth the money in UAE heat, or just hype?
I've been going back and forth on getting paint protection film for my new car for weeks, and honestly I'm still not sure if it's genuinely worth the investment or if I'm just falling for clever marketing. I've read about how the film uses thermoplastic polyurethane with a self-healing topcoat that can repair minor scratches when exposed to heat, which sounds incredible in theory . But I'm also aware that in temperatures over 45°C, not all films perform the same, and cheap ones can actually yellow, haze, or have the adhesive fail within a couple of years . I'm trying to understand if this is a smart investment or an expensive luxury I don't really need, so I want to find out more about PPF performance in extreme UAE weather conditions before I commit to spending thousands of dirhams on a full wrap. Does the self-healing really work in practice, or is it mostly marketing fluff? And more importantly, does the film genuinely stop stone chips, or just make them less obvious? I'm just trying to figure out if this is actually going to protect my car or if I'd be better off just sticking with regular wax and accepting that paint damage is inevitable here. Any honest feedback from people who've lived with PPF for a while would be massively appreciated.
