Is a service contract actually worth it or am I just locking myself in?
I've had my 2017 430i for about two years now and I keep going back and forth on whether to sign up for some kind of maintenance plan. I drive around 25k km a year so I'm at the shop more than I'd like, and every time I go I end up paying whatever they quote because I don't have time to shop around. A guy at work told me he signed a Reliable service contract for BMW owners and said it basically covers his routine maintenance for the year at a fixed price, no surprises. That sounds appealing because I hate the guessing game, but I'm also worried about being locked into one place and then finding out they don't cover something important. Has anyone here actually signed one of these? Did it end up saving you money or did you feel stuck? I want to know if the fine print is usually fair or if they find ways to charge you extra anyway. Any real experiences would help because I need to decide before my next service is due.
