I'm genuinely starting to get scared driving my Grand Cherokee at anything above 80 km/h because the steering wheel starts shaking so badly it practically vibrates out of my hands, and it gets especially intense when I apply the brakes to slow down for a junction or traffic ahead. I've already had the front tyres balanced and rotated thinking that might solve it, but it made absolutely no difference whatsoever, which tells me it's probably something else in the front end that's worn out. A mechanic friend of mine had a quick look and said the tie rod ends feel a bit loose and the steering rack itself might have some play in it, but he wasn't entirely sure without getting it up on a proper hoist for a closer inspection. The problem is, I use my Jeep for work every single day and I really can't afford to have it sitting in a workshop for days while they diagnose things and wait for parts to arrive from who knows where. I've been asking around and someone mentioned that if I can find Same-day Jeep steering repair in Khalifa City, there are a few places that actually keep common steering components in stock and can get you back on the road the same day. I'm really hoping it's just a worn tie rod or a steering damper that needs replacing, rather than the whole rack which I know would be a much more expensive and time-consuming job. Has anyone here had similar violent shaking issues under braking and can tell me what the fix ended up being for them? I'd really appreciate any advice because I'm honestly worried about driving it much longer in this condition.
